Service Point Introduces Custom Branded Digital Storefront Sites for Clients

Woburn, MA, (01-29-2010) – Service Point USA announces it is now offering hosted, custom-branded Digital Storefront (DSF) sites for clients. Also known as Web-to-Print Storefronts, custom branded DSF sites provide users with online access to a catalog of personalized and/or unique, client-specific documents to select from and automate print orders. Sites are graphically branded with a client’s logo and may be used for intercompany or external, commercial applications. Online printing from user-created desktop files is also supported.

Digital Storefronts provide a complete, streamlined workflow from the user through print production, to finishing and delivery or distribution of printed documents. Catalog documents may typically include marketing materials, stationery and business card templates for intercompany sites, or product guides, reference manuals, and other such documents for customer-facing sites. Digital files for these items are easily updated and replaced so that a company’s DSF site remains current at all times.

DSF features include Variable Data Printing (VDP) for applications such as business card orders from branded templates; optional PDF conversion of files, online proofing, order status reporting, and order history for reporting purposes or re-orders. The Shopping Cart feature enables payment for orders by credit card or invoicing via Service Point account.

DSF provides enhanced efficiency in both the print order process and in utilizing Service Point’s complete printing and distribution services. These services include finishing and kitting with variable components for product support materials such as guides and reference manuals, small document printing for other needs, and large format display and event graphics.

Service Point’s own Digital Storefront for customers, the The Print Store, illustrates a commercial use of DSF. Any potential user can register for a login and select specific types and quantities of items to print, or choose their own specifications, and upload their file(s).

For custom client sites, many template variations in appearance and structure, including variable categories of products, are available. Service Point works with each of its clients requesting custom DSF sites to select components suitable to their needs.

Service Point’s Digital Storefronts are powered by EFI, which enables more than 3,000 printing sites worldwide. Technical support for DSF clients is provided directly by Service Point’s IT group.

Benefits to clients with custom Digital Storefronts include: a self-serve site with increased efficiency and speed in placement of print orders by users without the need for assistance by company personnel, brand awareness and compliance by users to their company’s standards, and increased accountability and control of print materials and users.

“We are very excited to introduce this effective new tool that automates the print order process and makes it easier for clients to manage their printing”, states Bill Sullivan, Service Point USA Managing Director and COO. “Custom DSF sites are especially advantageous to manufacturers, suppliers, and organizations providing business services that include a variety of printed documents, in better controlling their print materials.”
